Oakdene House Foundation is pleased to announce that Dr. Bo Bernhard, Executive Director of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’s International Gaming Institute and one of the world’s leading figures in the study of gambling addiction has agreed to be our patron. Dr Bernhard replaces our inaugural patron Dr Rob Hunter, who recently passed away.
With over twenty years experience studying the effects of gambling, Dr Bernhard is highly regarded throughout the world. Dr Bernhard spent most of these years researching and teaching at the UNLV, where he currently sits at the Executive Director of the International Gaming Institute.
Recently in Australia, Dr Bernhard took some time during his trip to visit Oakdene House and to speak with some of the attendees about some of the myths associated with gambling addiction. Dr Bernhard gave an update on some of the latest developments into the treatment and management of addictions as well as answering a number of questions from our attendees.
Working with the staff at Oakdene House, Dr Bernhard is looking forward to a long and beneficial association, sharing information and working towards supporting gamblers as they seek to overcome their addiction.
